Not much new

The girls just hanging for an evening of TV watching - Zoey, Maddie & Mommy. It was a pretty decent night. Maddie slept from 9-12 and then from 12:30-4:30. Of course I woke up at least 3-4 times in that 4 hour stretch to check on her. I still have that crazy fear that I'll wake up and she won't be breathing.
This sleeper says "Rock me to sleep"... our little rock star!
You can't tell but she's staring at the dogs fighting/playing with one another on the other side of the room.
Uh oh... dogs are getting a little too close. She's trying to tell them to back it up with her evil glare.

SPCA Walk

Some pics from the Maryland SPCA "March for the Animals" that Tom and I and the puggies participated in on April 19th. It was a really nice day for a walk and the puggies had a good time. Zoey tried to be a big tough girl and bark at the big dogs but as soon as they got close or we were in a crowded spot she shrank behind my legs and kept trying to get me to pick her up. Lenny walked in his usual fashion, pulling Tom along. A couple others from AFB walked but we couldn't find them in the crowds. We raised over $900 this year!! Thanks to everyone who helped contribute!

Snow in April!!

Why is there snow on April 8th? This is ridiculous!! Even Zoey is miffed about the snow... except that she likes to eat it as seen by the remnants on her chin... Silly Zo-Zo!

While Mommy's away... Zoey will play

Zoey has a stuffed pug that she was given for Christmas. It has survived her rough play for nearly 2 months... but when I got home from my trip last night, she had the stuffing torn all over the house - the living room, dining room, kitchen & the hallway were covered in grape size pieces of fuzz. I gathered it all up & surveyed the damage.
I think his face has been thoroughly mutilated. Hard to tell from the picture but his nose is hanging on by a thread... The evil Zo-Zo strikes again. Stuffed animals, slippers, shoes and pillows beware!!!

Lenny Update

I've spoken to the vet. He thinks the lump we found sounds like fatty tissue - just like we had removed last year. I'm to monitor it and make sure it doesn't start to bother Lenny. If it bothers him or if Lenny just starts acting differently, we are to bring him in. Otherwise, his annual physical and shots update is coming up in April/May so we can wait until then for the vet to examine the lump.

As far as his behavior... he's his normal self. He was super excited to see Grandma and Grandpa last weekend... and the rest of the time he's either a big sleepy head or barking out the front window at passersby. Such a relief for my beautiful boy. Click Here to Read More..

A new lump

A few months back, Lenny had surgery to remove some teeth and also some lumps from his body. While he was laying with me on the couch on Sunday, I noticed that a new lump has emerged on his left thigh. It has popped up out of nowhere and is already pretty big and hard - maybe quarter of an inch round. It doesn't seem to bother him... but I'm really concerned.

My poor guy. I love him so much. It brings tears to even think about & write this and the preggo emotional rollercoaster is only making it worse. I can't stand to see him go through another surgery. It was hard enough to get him to go back to the vet to have his stitches removed from the last surgery. I have to call the vet to find out what our next move is.

Why I never wear slippers

Things like slippers just aren't safe in our house...
You never know where the Zo-Zo might be lurking...

Lenny's Surgery

The surgery was successful... but scary...

Lenny had to go to the vet for surgery today. Many of you know that some of his nicknames are "Mr. SnaggleTooth" and "Mr. StinkyBreath". Well, at his last vet visit a few weeks ago, the decision was finally made that he definitely needed some dental work. To what extent, we weren't sure b/c Lenny hates having his mouth touched and the only way to survey the damage would be to put him under general anesthesia. In addition, Lenny developed a lump of fatty tissue on his underbelly about 2 months ago and we elected to have it removed (even though the vet thought it was fine) since he would already be asleep and we didn't want to put him through a second surgery a year from now.

So after tons of snuggling and dozens of hugs and kisses and having Mommy sing him his favorite song ("Beautiful Boy" by John Lennon), he marched to the vet's office in true "General" fashion. He was out for several hours, had 14 teeth pulled, the rest were sandblasted, the lump was removed, a mole at his ear and the mole on his upper lip were removed. He is currently recovering and most likely enjoying the painkillers. I'm sure he'll be back on his feet soon enough - scanning the perimeter of the yard, barking at anyone that passes by the front window of the house, and humping the life out of his stuffed doggie.

He will remain Mr. Snaggletooth (with the few teeth he has left) but hopefully no more Mr. StinkyBreath.

So my words of wisdom for all you dog owners out there... start brushing those teeth early! Get them used to you sticking your hands in their mouth and touching their teeth! If it's part of their routine, it is sooo much easier... the same with cleaning those ears and clipping the nails.

Pugs - Zoey and Lenny

I can't get enough of these guys! They don't care about anything except giving love, getting food and sleeping... What a life!
I dare you to try to get me out of this bed!

Peek-a-boo!

Mommy & Daddy already got out of bed but it's still sleepy time! So glad we have each other to lean on!

Taking a nap with Daddy... Zoey has her little pink pig and Lenny has his doggy. How cute!!
