Playing in Sand

I found the turtle sandbox at a yard sale for $3 and Maddie really enjoyed it. So when I saw this table which could be used as a sand table/water table/craft table for only $10, I had to pick it up. And its even better than having a sandbox - primarily because she can sit in a chair or stand in order to play in it... with the sandbox I'd make her sit in the grass but then she'd have to lean over constantly. It's a great addition to our yard and patio. Tom says he wishes he had one as a kid to play with dirt and cars... I guess that's an indication of what it will be used for if we ever have a little boy. Lovely.
We make castles and then she smashes them.

Maddie Turns a Digit!

These aren't in order... but here are a handful of the 100+ pictures from Maddie's birthday party last Saturday. It was a perfect day. Great weather, great friends, good time had by all. It was emotional too as I realized how quickly Maddie's first year went by. She's not baby anymore and there is some sadness in watching her grow.
I don't know if this is a Catholic thing or a polish thing... something Tom's family does to determine what the baby will be when they grow up.
Apparently Maddie will be a drinking accountant... shocker.
This was my baby when she woke up from her nap before her party started. Super cute in her dress but if she would have stretched out her legs you would have seen that she is really tall. Only about a foot left of room in her crib.

Maddie loves playing in the yard. She finds all kinds of things to get into... mulch is her most favorite.
and leaves...
She gets so excited when she picks things up and shows them to us.
And of course, she has to taste everything!
