Whatever happened to lazy Sundays?

"Lazy Sundays" were usually what followed a busy Saturday. Now my Sunday includes laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning the house, giving the puggies a bath... a great way to spend my only day off. Only a week and a half to go. Then I'll get my Saturdays and my evenings back. Thank god!!

Here's the puggies after their bath. They were tuckered out from all the excitement. They were so good and I felt bad about being away all week, so I bought them each a new toy too. Zoey destroyed the squeeker in her toy within about an hour. I'm sure I'll find the stuffing all over the house by the end of the week. Oh well - the munchkin deserves a little fun.

Trip to NYC

I've determined that people traveling on trains are incredibly rude. On my trip to NYC on Sunday, I get on the train & everybody is sitting in the aisle seat with their crap on the other seat and wouldn't offer to let me sit down. I had to walk through 3 cars with the train moving before I gave up and just started asking people if they'd mind if I could sit down. And of course, no one offered to help when I had to lift my bag up over my head into the overhead bin. Whoever said that people are nicer to you when you are pregnant must not have taken a ride on Amtrak!

After I was finally settled in, I was watching other people. At the next stop, a man got off the train and the lady who was next to him immediately put down his tray table and put an extra magazine and bottle of water on it so that no one else would sit there the rest of her trip. People are unbelievable!

A 2 1/2 hour train ride and a near-death cab ride later, I was checked into the hotel and puking from the anxiety and an upset stomach. Lovely way to start the week!! Click Here to Read More..

Zoey in Training

Zoey has graciously volunteered to help with Maddie's midnight feedings... here she was on Sunday showing me how she'd feed the baby.

Weekend Ups & Downs

Friday
My new favorite way to spend Friday night - get home in time to watch Wheel & Jeopardy while eating dinner. And then veg for a few hours before going to bed early. Fabulous!!

Saturday
First of all, something is wrong with our washing machine (maybe the belt broke?). So I had to truck all of our laundry to the laundromat on Saturday. Ugh. For anyone that must do this on a weekly basis, God help you. Lugging the heavy baskets was a chore and dealing with skeevy people staring at me and our "unmentionables" is just creepy.

On the plus side, we had a great Saturday night with my family at my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary party. Congrats Grammy & Pappy!! And we all went bowling afterwards. My cousin (Dustin - the little competitor) set us up in brackets so it was fun to battle it out.

Sunday
The second fiasco - grocery trip to Walmart. It was packed & it was Terrible. People are so rude. Doesn't matter if you are pregnant either - they'll bang into your cart, cut in front of you, won't try to give you any space to get by in a crowded aisle and I was nearly backed into in the parking lot. I hate buying groceries on the weekend but unfortunately it's the only time I have during busy season.

But on the plus side, we spent Sunday afternoon/evening with Tom's family (visiting Gerry since she's been laid up with foot surgery). I made a fabulous lasagna and we had a good time catching up. It was also Kim and Big Tom's birthday this past week, so a little celebrating was deserved. Also played some Yahtzee! And I have two things to say about that - (1) girls rule and boys drool and (2) yes you can beat someone that has a Yahtzee and you don't.... Congrats on the win Kim! Click Here to Read More..

big boy jeans

Yesterday morning I was moaning b/c I could barely get my preggo jeans on (I swear these are made by men who have no idea how the woman's body changes during pregnancy).
Tom's helpful suggestion, "You could just wear a pair of my jeans if that's more comfortable."
I just glared at him. Men are clueless!
This picture pretty much describes how I feel...
except add a bowling ball to the stomach area also.
