While Mommy's away... Zoey will play

Zoey has a stuffed pug that she was given for Christmas. It has survived her rough play for nearly 2 months... but when I got home from my trip last night, she had the stuffing torn all over the house - the living room, dining room, kitchen & the hallway were covered in grape size pieces of fuzz. I gathered it all up & surveyed the damage.
I think his face has been thoroughly mutilated. Hard to tell from the picture but his nose is hanging on by a thread... The evil Zo-Zo strikes again. Stuffed animals, slippers, shoes and pillows beware!!!

The belly at 26 weeks

I was away at a client this week and decided to take a picture of my belly in the hotel closet mirror to send to Tom. It feels crazy big... but still 14 more weeks. The PJs are pretty hot, aren't they?

Mardi Gras

We went to a Mardi Gras party at EYC on Saturday night. Not the best picture (it was dark & it was a camera phone). Some people went all out with these crazy customes... we decided beads were good enough. In honor of V-Day, my beads were red hearts that lit up.

Lenny Update

I've spoken to the vet. He thinks the lump we found sounds like fatty tissue - just like we had removed last year. I'm to monitor it and make sure it doesn't start to bother Lenny. If it bothers him or if Lenny just starts acting differently, we are to bring him in. Otherwise, his annual physical and shots update is coming up in April/May so we can wait until then for the vet to examine the lump.

As far as his behavior... he's his normal self. He was super excited to see Grandma and Grandpa last weekend... and the rest of the time he's either a big sleepy head or barking out the front window at passersby. Such a relief for my beautiful boy. Click Here to Read More..

"Nesting"

I guess they call it nesting - but I can't clean enough. I've cleaned out several closets, our junk room, the garage, Tom's music room, etc. I'm trying to get through the entire house before my 3rd trimester starts. If I take one evening or afternoon each weekend, I should be able to do it. If I start alphabetizing the DVDs will someone please come and stop me.

This is what Tom and the pugs did on Sunday afternoon while I went crazy with this "nesting" phase.
It's probably better that they stay out of my way... otherwise I'll be the "Cleaning Nazi" and I'll have to add it to my list of Nazi hats. Click Here to Read More..

Movement

I'm finally feeling some movement out of little Maddie. I'm at 23 weeks and I had almost given up on the idea that I'd be able to feel her. On Sunday morning, I was using an at-home heartbeat monitor (Thanks for lending it to me Mandy!!) - I've had no luck with this thing so far - but having it strapped on my stomach helped me to notice some kicking. Every couple of seconds for a full 10 minutes there it was! It was totally cool. Then again on Sunday night, while watching TV, she was at it again. Amazing!

It says that at this point she should be 11 inches and just over a pound. And she should be able to hear & identify sounds and my movements. So I'm thinking that maybe the dancing I was doing on Saturday night might have prompted her to stretch her legs and start her own little dancing on Sunday morning. And maybe it was listening to the music of the Grammy's on Sunday night that had her up and going.

I've also been listening to "Rockabye Baby" Lullaby CDs. These are the coolest thing! I ordered Metallica, Led Zeppelin and Bob Marley to get Maddie started. She is definitely going to be a little rock star!

A new lump

A few months back, Lenny had surgery to remove some teeth and also some lumps from his body. While he was laying with me on the couch on Sunday, I noticed that a new lump has emerged on his left thigh. It has popped up out of nowhere and is already pretty big and hard - maybe quarter of an inch round. It doesn't seem to bother him... but I'm really concerned.

My poor guy. I love him so much. It brings tears to even think about & write this and the preggo emotional rollercoaster is only making it worse. I can't stand to see him go through another surgery. It was hard enough to get him to go back to the vet to have his stitches removed from the last surgery. I have to call the vet to find out what our next move is.

Good movie

This past Sunday afternoon we decided to get out of the house to see a movie. Even though we are away so much because of work, sometimes it is nice to get out... especially considering how difficult it may become once Maddie arrives.

We saw the movie "Taken" with Liam Neeson (he was Bruce Wayne's instructor in "Batman Begins"). I really wanted to see this based on the previews but had two concerns going in: Would it be as action packed as the preview made it out to be? Would an older guy like Liam be able to pull off this character? Well, fortunately, I wasn't disappointed. I really enjoyed this movie and would recommend it to anyone. It was a nice afternoon escape.

I have to admit though... the storyline was a little bothersome given that we are expecting a baby girl. It was a little too easy to imagine her growing up, spreading her wings, travelling (something I know I would encourage), and being exposed to such a dangerous world. But that's a long time away so we'll try not to think about that just yet. Click Here to Read More..
