Pictures of Maddie

Looking tired and overwhelmed... but feeling incredibly happy and grateful. Snuggling with Mommy - she is so precious.
Napping on Daddy - this will probably become a daily routine.

Still no baby

Four days overdue. Still no baby. Beyond frustrated. The upside - this is my last day of work. I'll have off for the next 12 weeks which puts me going back to work right after Labor Day weekend. Hopefully my next post will be an announcement of Maddie's arrival - my fingers are crossed! Click Here to Read More..

June 8, 2009

Today is my due date. And still no Maddie. Getting really frustrated. Trying everything that people have suggested to move things along:

1. eat spicy food (twice in the past week) - instead wound up with really bad heartburn all night.
2. walking - even mowed the grass yesterday to get the exercise of walking back and forth across the yard. At least the yard looks really nice.
3. scrubbing floors - I didn't actually do this, but I did weeding, raking, picking up grass clippings, etc. in hopes that all the bending over would be the same effect. No baby but did get a really bad backache the rest of the day & night.
4. take a bumpy car ride - this too was painful rather than helpful.
5. dancing - did a little bit of dancing at a wedding on Saturday. Total uncoordinated mess.
6. sex - no comment

The doc says that none of these things really work - I just have to wait and Maddie will come when she's ready. So no more suggestions people. I'll just wait in misery.

The Final Countdown

I am 6 days from my due date. Basically all of the preparations are done (except getting the car seat in the car - I swear I'm doing it tonight). And now we just wait... and wait... and wait.

Tom and I took advantage of what could be our last weekend as just a "couple" to go to dinner together on Saturday night. We are going to try to go to dinner & a movie some evening after work this week too. On Sunday we had some visitors - Jay, Becke & Jordyn stopped by to say hello and drop off a gift for Maddie. We grilled some burgers & hot dogs and caught up since it had been several months since we last saw them.

We had some pregnancy photos taken last week - a good idea but wish we had done it before I was all the way at the end of the pregnancy and looking really big. Here are a couple of our favorite shots:

Memorial Day Weekend

Sorry but I'm behind in posting.

Tom and I took off work on Friday to make a 4-day weekend, but Friday was a super busy day. First an appointment at the daycare to sign Maddie up for September. Then we had a carpet cleaning company come to the house to deep clean the carpets (which meant we had to move all of our furniture). Next we had a 4 hour trip to pick up the rest of Maddie's furniture.

Finally, we (me, Tom, Mom, Dad, Cousin Tom & Patty) went to see Kenny Chesney at Merriweather in Columbia, MD. The show was a blast!! Thanks to Cousin Tom, we enjoyed the show from box seats which were super close and fun because we had so much space and we had a bartender/waitress. I was hoping that all the excitement and dancing would get Maddie moving but a week later and still no appearance.

The rest of the weekend was spent with various family visiting and hanging out at the house. Spent some time in the pool, the hot tub, playing games and sitting around the tiki bar. We kept it low key this year with just family but there was still a lot of activity. My camera is packed in the "hospital bag" so I never took any pics but once Mandy sends me some, I'll update this post. Click Here to Read More..
